We Are Victorious
Victory is something worth celebrating, especially if you have been fighting for it for a long time.
On the 8th of May 1945, Germany forces finally surrendered marking the end of world war 2 in Europe. To this day, across Europe, VE Day is one of the most celebrated days.
Many wars have been fought and the end is always the same; a huge celebration to mark victory over the enemy.
The bible talks of a constant battle between good and evil. We are caught in the middle of it, fighting on God’s side against the devil and his demons. Every move we make has to be strategic and well calculated. We are in a war zone.
Paul says in Romans 6:12-13, “Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.”
God has already given us victory over sin through the death and resurrection of christ. The devil and sin were defeated, now we are living in victory.
Every day has to be a celebration of that victory. We should not allow the loser to control us. Let us live everyday knowing we were given victory over sin and Jesus is our ultimate weapon of mass destruction for any action that is in favour of evil.
Even though God defeated sin, the devil is still doing his best to make us feel like we can’t overcome our challenges. He constantly reminds us of our weaknesses, inabilities and sometimes we give in. We must always remember that on our own, we are no match for the devil. The one who fought the devil and won is offering that same victory to us, only if we come close to and remain in him. Jesus is be our bodyguard against the devil and his devices.
Remember, we are more than conquerers through him who loved us .
