The Secret To A More Successful Life
Acts 1 vs 23-26
23 So they nominated two men: Joseph called Barabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias. 24 Then they prayed, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen 25 to take over this apostolic ministry, which Judas left to go where he belongs.” 26 Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles.
How often do you seek God’s provision in your life? Do you care about what he has to say about your life or you lean on your own understanding? Are there parts of your life that you would rather God not reach? Perhaps choosing your friends? Is it that you don’t want God to reach those parts because you are scared of what he might reveal?
God is very transparent. He will not hide the truth from you, but he will reveal what you need to know and he will guide you through it all. Even with decisions like choosing spouses/partners, are you more focused on doing bae goals, that you don’t want to seek God’s provision? Maybe you know that the person you are mingling with might not be God’s choice for your life.
By refusing to trust God’s provision, you may indirectly be seeking the devil’s. It’s either A or B, there is no in-between. God wants to guide your steps, he wants to order your steps if you are willing. He wants to take the driver’s seat. Be the remote, let him control your life and see where he will take you.
Peter had so much anointing upon his life but he still went to God when the apostles were replacing Judas. What is stopping you from doing that? Are you willing to activate the Holy Spirit that lives within you so that he may guide you and walk with you through it all?
Having God at every step does not mean everything will be rosy. It means you will have peace. Having God will allow you to be at that place of stillness, for you to have peace of mind no matter the situation.
The whole world could be crushing but you will be at peace, as people call it, your ‘zen’ moment, a state where you are focused on nothing else but God. The bible says, ‘seek the kingdom of God’. By asking for God provision, you are seeking his kingdom. It shows that you want things of his kingdom, things that God wants. The bible goes on to say, “All shall be added unto you," which means even the desires on your heart will be given to you too.
When you are seeking God with your everything, he will place the desires of his kingdom in your heart. Don’t forget you were created with the sole purpose of serving God. Everything we do must be serving a purpose. It must be building the kingdom of God. We should never procrastinate when we are working for the kingdom of God.
God was not lazy when he created this earth and everything in it, therefore, as fellow believers, we must not be lazy. We should know we are living in the last days, preparing for the second coming of Jesus therefore, we need to start working in the field, operation ‘win souls for Jesus’! Operation ‘serve God even in my sleep’, operation ‘living for God’.
Let’s not be selfish with the time we have been given on this earth. Let’s treasure each day. Someone once said,”live each day as if it’s your last,” stay ready for Jesus because he can return at anytime. You don’t want him to find you sleeping because you feel lazy to fulfil what you have been commissioned.
Imagine yourself working in a factory or warehouse, every single thing serves a purpose and there is a reason for it to be there. A car cannot be fully functional without the smallest part such as screws. Everything counts. We must always seek God’s provision even for those things we think don’t matter like hair. He cares about all of it.
Take it to the lord in prayer.
