Everyday The Enemy Tries To Pull Us Back

Matthew 6:9-13

“This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from the evil one.

Give glory to God first, greet him with honour for he is great and there is no one like him. Acknowledge his greatness over heaven, earth and you. We must always acknowledge how powerful God is by giving him praise; worship him with everything. Ask for him to sanctify your day, this is also acknowledging that you are unable to go through the day without his grace and showing that you depend on him.

I believe that being a child of God is fully submitting and surrendering to Him, letting go of any power you think you possess. There is no verse you read about Jesus being independent, from the womb he has always depended on God and we should do the same.

Of course, for some of us who have been in the world, it’s not an easy route and it does not happen overnight, but allow the Holy Spirit to take over and break you from inside so that it will start to show on the outside.

The Holy Spirit teaches and guides us always, but only if you are willing to let go and let God. Don’t forget that forgiveness is key, we ought to ask God to forgive us daily. We were born through the first sin of Adam and Eve, but by his blood, we are washed clean. Everyday, the enemy tries to pull us back, he does not want to see us go back to our first love, so he tries to distract and entice us with sin. Sometimes we know when we have messed up, sometimes we don’t.

The Holy Spirit is there to help us, he convicts and leaves us in our place, but only if we are willing. Unlike the devil who will make you sin, God will not force anyone. Each day you make a choice and every second of every hour it’s a battle between light and darkness, which is why the bible says resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Jesus showed us that we can resist the devil by using the bible, the true living word of God. Rebuke the devil and command him to flee from you, you have the authority and power given to you by Jesus. Don’t dwell in sin, be accountable for your actions and cut the tail before it gets too long and consumes you. It’s like eating a tray of doughnuts when you are trying to cut down on sugar intake, you know they are not good for you, so you quickly put the tray away before you eat them all. No one is going to do all that for you because you have the choice and free will to resist.

God is not controlling. His love allows you to choose and he will love you regardless of your choice, but just know that for each choice there is a consequence, either hell or heaven. The choice is yours, I choose light over darkness.
